Congress Screws Americans Again

Read something yesterday I wasn't aware of. Seems Congress, in its continuing crusade to destroy the middle class, included a provision in the new bankrkuptcy law I wasn't aware of.

Come October 17, 2005 when the bill takes effect, not only will it be harder for most Americans to discharge their debts, regardless of why they need to; but, on that day banks will raise the minimum monthly payment from 2% to 4%.

Just think, if you currently have credit card payments of $1000 a month, come October 17th. those payments will suddenly be $2000. Assuming everything remains the same.

Ain't it wonderful to live in a country with a government that is "of the people," "by the people" and "for the people?"

Just imagine what life would be like if our "servant" government thought more about its own existance and the existance of the corporations it creates that collect taxes for it? Be a harsh reality wouldn't it?
